Grundtvig 4 Network, 2001-2004:
"Supporting the development of New Learning Pathways
for Adults"
This Grundtvig 4 network, coordinated by ERDI, aims to provide an overview of lifelong
learning strategies which encourage the adaptation and transfer of
information and practice between formal and informal approaches and
between different sectors of education and training and their associated
professions. It is prompted by a growing need to encourage more open
systems of education and training which encourage recurrent learning;
promote social inclusion; equality of opportunity; greater flexibility
and learner-centredness among professionals.
The project focuses upon
strategies which
-
Increase demand for
learning through innovative approaches to promotion, marketing and
outreach; seeking to widen participation among adults who,
traditionally, under-participate in organised learning;
-
improve the quality of
supply by contributing to the initial and continuing professional
development of those involved in helping adults learn.
